Live flight updates for whoever is picking you up

Let your ride know when you land.

Add your flight once. touchdowned texts or emails the person picking you up when you take off, before you land and the moment you touch down, with every delay and gate change in between. They never need the app.

Free to start. iPhone and Android.

How it works

Set it up before you board. Then forget about it.

No more texting "just landed" from the jet bridge, or your ride circling the airport.

  1. Add your flight

Enter the flight number and date. touchdowned finds the route, times, terminal and gate.

  2. Pick who's getting you

Choose someone from your contacts, by phone or email. They get one invite and reply YES or tap Confirm to start getting updates.

  3. They know when to leave

They hear when you take off, before you land, when you land, and whenever the flight changes. Every message links to a live map.

For your pickup person

They never need the app.

  • Plain texts or emails. Updates arrive the way they already talk to you.
  • A live trip page. One tap shows your plane on a map, the landing time, terminal and gate, updating on its own.
  • Times that make sense. Every time is shown in the local time of the airport, so 6:40 PM at SFO means 6:40 PM at SFO.
  • Gone when you're home. The trip link stops working 24 hours after landing, or as soon as you stop updates.

Does the person picking me up need to install anything?

No. They get regular texts or emails, and each one links to a live trip page that opens in any browser.

Where does touchdowned work?

Texts and phone sign-in work with US (+1) phone numbers for now. Anyone else can sign in and get updates by email. Flights can be anywhere.

What if my flight is delayed or the gate changes?

The live trip page always shows the latest. On the paid plan your pickup person also gets a message whenever the flight changes.

Which time zone are the times in?

Every time is in the local time of the airport it refers to: departure times at the origin airport, landing times at the destination.

How long does the trip link work?

Until 24 hours after you land, or until you stop updates, whichever comes first. After that the link shows nothing.

How do I cancel the paid plan?

In your App Store or Google Play subscriptions, like any other app. You keep the paid plan until the end of the period you paid for.
